Understanding Filter Rules & Game Clues
Known Position (Wordle Green)
Wordle Green: Correct letter and position.
A letter is known to be in a specific position.
Example: A _ _ _ _ (A is locked in slot 1).
Use Advanced → Known Position boxes or pattern (e.g. A _ _ _ _) to lock in confirmed green tiles or crossword letters.
Included Letter (Wordle Yellow)
Wordle Yellow: Correct letter but wrong position.
A letter exists somewhere in the word, but its exact position is unknown.
Example: _ A _ _ _ (A is in the word, unplaced).
Use Search Mode → Including or Letters to Include to match yellow clues and rack tiles.
Excluded Letter (Wordle Gray)
Wordle Gray: Letter is not used in the word.
A letter should not appear in the word.
Example: R, T, S (ruled-out letters).
Use Advanced → Letters to Exclude to eliminate gray tiles and narrow candidates.
Pattern (Crosswords & Blanks)
A known-position pattern such as: _ _ A _ E
Underscores (_) represent unknown positions.
